I've decided to suppliment my chickens diet with mealworms for added protien. They have all the 16% they want to eat. They free range all day and get a real nice salad every morning so they really don't eat that much regular feed. My qestion is: about how many worms per bird per day will bring their protien intake to where it shoud be and how many should they get when they moult?
    Thanks, KD

that might be a hard question answer. My mill worms are 56.58% by volume so it doesnt matter if you feed them 1 or 20 its still 56.58%. I dont know how or if you can translate that into a protein level. I use them as treats only and wouldn't use them as a protein substitute. Id get a higher volume of protein feed if you want to raise their protein level.
