I have been raising mealworms for around 7 years now. They are so easy to raise even my kids can do it!
You get used to them eventually. I was a bit squeamish of them at first too but I got over that fast. If you don't like them wiggly just place them in a plastic container with a few holes poked in the lid and set it in your fridge. They will go to "sleep". When you take them out as they warm up they wake up and start wiggling again. So they should stay still long enough for you to hand feed them to your chickens or throw them in a shallow bowl or the ground for the chickens to peck. Keeping them in the fridge also keeps them from chaging into beetles if you aren't wanting to start an actual mealworm farm.
When I feed my animals (we have sugar gliders, chickens, & a monkey that eat them), I just grab the mealworm by the butt (no legs on that end) and the chickens grab them right out of my fingers. I also throw a bunch in my hand and feed them that way too but you may prefer one at a time if you don't like the wiggling feeling in your hand.
If you are going to start your own mealworm farm just make sure you watch for mold. Mold is toxic to a lot of animals. Not sure about chickens but I know with my other animals it's highly toxic.
