So we have 12 chickens, 3 RI Reds, 3 Leghorns, 3 Polish and 3 Araucanas. (The feed store says they were Araucanas, but after some research I'm not sure if they really are, they look like this: http://i.imgur.com/KUqCTnY.jpg)

Anyways they all used to get along fine, despite slight age differences/being integrated, until recently the Araucanas have been attacking the Polish. We had to remove the Polish for a while so their heads could heal up! Now we are trying to re-integrate them, and are hoping that since the weather is nicer and they can all get out more, it will be peaceful again soon. So far though, no luck. We tried to put some of that purple goopy anti-pecking stuff on their heads, and while the Araucanas hate the taste and usually run away to wipe their beaks, they just keep going back. Any tips?

Thank you.

Separate the bullies for a week or so, then try to reintegrate.

I think polish are prone to being picked on because of their silly hairdos.

Easter Eggers if they came from hatchery, if you read the fine print you can usually tell.

How old are they.....are you sure they're all hens?

They will all be a year at slightly different times this spring, The Polish some time this month and the Araucanas sometime next month.
We will try separating the Araucanas, that sounds like a good idea, thank you!

Don't perpetuate the Araucana marketing myth if you know you really have Easter Eggers...lol....our mill insists on calling them Araucana when they know they're not ...I call them ArauKindas.

Are they all hens?
If you have roosters in the mix you need to think about that to solve any aggression issues

Haha yeah I guess they are just Easter Eggers, but I like ArauKindas better ;)

They are definitely all hens; there are no roosters and they all lay eggs.
