We got two light brahma pullets to integrate into our other youngsters from this spring once they were old enough. They are feathered out now and so we put them in a separate cage in the youngsters coop.
At this point, one of the brahma chicks became aggressive. I don't see anything that makes me think that SHE is a HE, but I wouldn't swear to it either. She started picking on her cage mate. Now she will peck your hand when you reach in to feed/water. She grabs on and hangs on.
Ok, so this is not good when they are small, but when she's full grown...even worse! Is this a stage from the stress of being caged near the others? Or a developmental stage? Maybe she's a rooster and isn't a nice one, at that?
Should I just turn her loose with the older pullets and let them "put her in her place"? Keep her separated? Right now, we took the gentle brahma out to keep her safe.
Hopefully, one of you has run onto this before and can give me guidance and opinions!
Thanks!
