Mean chicken

I know it sounds crazy but it has worked for me when I have aggressive poultry?

Flip her on her back and pet her stomach, Hold her in this position for 1 minute a day for around a week. It shows her who is boss, hopefully it helps.

Discipline her first, before she attacks, just a few times so she truly knows you are boss! If getting a little rough with her turns her into a hen you can keep and stops this behavior then you will both benefit. I'm not talking vicious, but just pin her down and lift her up, stuff like that so you have total control of her.

My fav chicken ( a BA ) was just a sweet heart loved to cuddle and a month before she started laying omg...I wanted to kill her. She was attacking me and I was ready to make her fired chicken, but after she started laying shes back to my cuddly girl. I think its hormones...give her until she starts laying.. then if shes still mean. I will tell you how to make amazing fried chicken!

my leghorn roo also did that to me, he kept of pecking my feet and sometimes attack me with his spur. im really not an expert and it may sound cruel.. what i did is pat him in the back with slight force and pressure until i hear his long groaning sound like *KRUUUUUUUUH!*.. and i did that for about 3 days and we're fine right now

This behaviour did just recently start and she should be laying sometime soon, she does croutch down to me when i go to pet her feathers, and only our laying hens do that.

I will try the belly rub as well! Its just a matter of getting her there to begin with! She doesnt like to be held, she also is very LOUD recently! Squaking at everything and everyone like we are a problem for her!

To cure my roo's bad attitude, I chase him down, corner him, and grab him by the legs scooping him up. I then parade him around a lil bit in front of the rest of the flock hung upside down before holding him to the ground on his side for a minute or two. It's amazing how quickly they realize who's boss and that the boss is mad.

Jersey Giant, I can see her in the oven now. Now let's see who pecks who. And don't worry, you Rock will make a new friend.

I do this too, but I pick them up and flip them onto their backs and hold them on my shoulder... they are like "whats going on!" and then they calm down.

I had a Production Red like that. It really makes having chickens not very enjoyable. Stupid chicken would chase my 5 year old. She would run screaming from the chickens. The thing attacked me and I kicked it. I was scared and it was a reflex. Lucky for us the chicken ran away or got eaten. Things were so much better with only nice chickens. The kids could actually take care of the chickens with out help.

I say cull.
