Mean chicken!

Pulling out the picked on one will just make it harder for her - she'll have to readjust back into the flock all over again.

I would remove the JG for at least a week so that pecking order can reestablish without her and see if that changes things for the Faverolle - also make sure to cover up any red with blukote to discourage pecking.

If things go well without the JG, reintroduce her after a week-10 days and see if that does the trick. If she's still mean, she goes. If the other birds still pick on the Fav while JG is in detention, then maybe they sense something off about the Fav.

Also, make sure your chickens have plenty of room and distractions, feather picking often starts with boredom...'ho hum, nothing to do, hey, that beard looks different...let me go peck at it...'

Maybe I will pull her inside, she is already a huge loner, she is such a momma's girl, she even loves letting me give her baths and blow dry her.

sounds like a candidate for Kamp Kenmore to me.....

I hadn't heard that one before - love it!

i had a chicken that was the bottom of the pecking order like that, she grew all her feathers back at the next molt.

i did remove the offending chicken. sometimes they can't help themselves!

This has worked for me. Let the mean one come back in as the stranger. I promise the shoes don't fit like the used to.

I think we are planning on removing the mean chicken and trading her with my boyfriends brother favorelle ( they dont like her because she is too loud) I am hoping with this maybe we can put the favorelle's together and re-introduce them and maybe they will be better! At least buddies!

My favorelle is also the loner in my mixed flock. I read somewhere that they don't do well in mixed flocks because how docile they are. (Found this out after I had brought her home! :) ) She tends to be by herself but luckily no one is picking (pecking) on her! I would remove the JG for a week and then reintroduce her and see if she is still the bully.

I would have a whole flock of favorelle's! I just love how docile she is, not to mention she is a total lap bird, but as far as my JG, i dont think I will ever want another one!

I don't have any advice....I just wanted to mention the Speckled Sussex in your avatar. I could swear that that is my girl, Speckles....hahahaha. She is so inquisitive and talkative. Whenever I try to take her picture she comes so close, looking into the camera the same as your chicken is doing
