Mean chickens

My husband has talked me out of eating either of the bullies. He's still recovering from eating our previous chickens. In doing so, he said that he will build the bullies a new coop and run. He was really traumatized.

Update on the Jackson sisters. Due to my failure of stopping the bullying I decided to try isolating the weak one and putting her in the coop at night. I have done so for 4 days, today being the 4th. She has now put herself in isolation. I left the flip top of the isolation box open and she simply jumped in this morning. Chickens are trainable. :wee

Here's my set up.

The isolation box takes up 1/4 of the run space.

Great thread. I have a bully. Her favorite hen to terrorize was my littke sick one (Rusty) who recently passed. She used to chase her down. Meany. She also pulls feathers from another flock member's back. The one getting plucked (Margo) is going through a hard molt, and keeps a good distance from the bully (Bagheera, a.k.a. Bitchgheera). In fact, if Bagheera comes near, Margo screams and runs away! LOL! Her feathers seem to be coming in nicely. I hope she keeps her distance, as I've had to saddle her before, and if I take the saddle off too early, Bagheera will pluck the spot bald in one day!
Otherwise, Bagheera is a hardy hen and sweet with humans. I'll try the timeout method, if needed. I did that once beforecwhen I felt Ineeded to protect Margo and Rusty both at the same time from Bagheera.
