Mean/manly chicken?

Hey everyone, I have this chicken who is a RIWXLeghorn, she is 19 months old and her name is Pip. Anyway, she really has it for one of my other hens, Jewel. She mounts her like a rooster trying to mate a hen, and a while back she crowed once or twice, and she is a terrible layer. We got 6 eggs from her last month and none so far this month. She is very dominant and she mounts Jewel so much it is starting to worry me. What is going on and what should I do?

I often have this happen when I have a flock with no roosters. I've even had hens crow before. I can assure you Pip will always remain a hen lol

I had a hen who started to crow. She was also being aggressive towards the chicks. I took her out of the flock, and put her in a private suite with my roo. She stopped crowing, and started laying a daily egg.

Great! But how do I put a stop to it? She is not even at the top of the pecking order.

Put her in a dog kennel in the run, everyone needs a “ private suit” for times like this,

Leave her in the for a few days and nights , she might come out with a different attitude... or maybe she was just born that way ....

Has she always been a terrible layer?
A hen can become more masculine in behaviors and appearance.
Hens only have one working ovary and if it malfunctions or stops functioning the testosterone levels can be come dominant.
I've had a crowing hen, went on for a few months during her winter break, she stopped crowing once she came back into lay in spring.
There's not much you can do about it, other than remove her from the flock is she causes too much trouble.
