I just wanted to updateI don't know how cold it gets where you are.
At 7 weeks they should have a proper set of feathers. I don't use broody coops, or heat lamps, or even incubators. Here even at minus 6 Centigrade as long as the cockerels and pullets can keep dry and out of the wind they survive.
@Redhead Rae makes a good point regarding supplementary heat. If you've been using this then I would shut that off while they are still in the broody coop to get them used to lower temps.
I found out that he is not being aggressive and that he only peck when the girls drift away to kind of herd them back , it's kind of cool to watch him work.
