mean rooster only attacks ME!

Tonight when I got home from work around 10:00 they were all roosting in the barn windowsill. I let them out this morning to free range about the yard. The snow has melted away in most places, and they have been penned a lot lately due to the weather. Well, they either wanted to prolong their freedom or forgot the way back to their home, b/c they were fast asleep in the windowsill. I cant let them stay there, a raccoon has been known to prowl that area, I saw his footprints all around the barn when there was snow on the ground. So I had to carry them back to the coop. So I put my thick coveralls on and some gloves (just in case) and decided to start with the roo. He wasnt thrilled by the prospect of being carried, but on the 2nd attempt I nabbed him out of the window and football tucked him. As soon as I had him held firm, he quit squirming and gave in to being held. One of the hens who likes to be picked up gladly perched on my other arm, and thankfully, saving me a 2nd trip, the other hen decided she wasnt about to be left alone and came following the rest of us on her own. I put them in their coop, and they settled right in. That "mean" roo I have didnt even attempt to bite, peck or claw me. He just squirmed and flapped a bit in protest. I feel empowered again...

Thank you sooooo much to all of you that offered help.

My roo thanks you too. He has been pardoned from his death-row sentence. And to think the start of this thread I was talking about how I would wait till spring to eliminate him because he would be easier to pluck after a molt....
