Similar to the way I was taught by my Grandmother, except she said she held them by their feet until they were still and ready to be let go. They learned who was boss. I only had to do this to 1 of my roosters and I never had another problem out of him.I have taken a couple of males that were acting a little aggressive but never attacked me. I picked them up and held their combs and put their heads down to their chests. I learned this from an old chicken breeder. Don't release them if they struggle hold them until they stop and a little longer. Each time the boy would challenged me I would repeat the process and it worked.
