My Orpington Roo is mean to my hens. He will peck them all day and on the roost. He will run them, won't them eat, pecks them repeatedly on the roost and will not let them get close without pecking them.
They are not ready to breed and he started crowing last week.
I realize that is what a rooster does but surely they don't do it that much.
What do I do? I have 5 pullets and 1 roo
I keep a fan on them since it is so hot.so I don't think it is the weather. They have a 25 ft run, 12x12 dog pen, there coop and about a 12x8 play area as well

The only way to separate them is to cage him. I am going to add to my coop as soon as I can to make it bigger but right now I have too much going on.

This is not what a good rooster does, I'd be rid of him. You can try separating him until the pullets are old enough to fend him off but it doesn't always work.
I was thinking of giving him away. I thought maybe he was stressed because I changed their coop several times before I got it so the big girls had room to jump off the roost. I guess I will rehome him

You can try but not many people want a rooster that will be mean to their hens. Always disclose the fact that he's a jerk just so people know what they're getting into.
