Actually..I have read reports of the Russians themselves making jokes about it...so..

One of them was: " Those aren't meteorites falling, its the Americans trying out a new weapon."

Personally I prefer laughter to mass global hysteria. The whole idea of a meteor is so 1960s-Twilight-Zone-ish...and it actually happened?? Treat the injured, clean up the mess, repair the damage, and find some way to laugh about the unthinkable. Good medicine!

For anyone who has trouble finding any humor in it, just imagine it did happen here in the US. The lawyers would have a field day. Sue the government, NASA, the window manufacturers, the home builders, the weatherman...who am I forgetting? And of course it would be PTSD for everyone involved, everyone within a thousand mile radius, and everyone who saw it on TV. Permanent disability for all! Good grief!
