meat bird processing in or near Oakland County MI

I am thinking about raising up a few meat birds at a time (I live in Royal Oak) but need to know where to have them butchered/processed. Every place I find is more than 45 minutes away from me. We are trying to live as self sufficiently as possible in the city and I don't want to spend all my savings on chicken meat in gas to have them processed. Thank You in advance!

Do we need to state the obvious? DO IT YOURSELF! It is very doable, honest.

Also, you are very unlikely to have any savings on your chicken meat. It will be much better meat but it will cost you more than the bagged fryers when they are on sale at the local grocery store.

If you genuinely want to become self-sufficient, you will learn to butcher your own.
