Medicated Feed vs. Growth of Chicks?

I have used medicated feed feed before and saw a difference?

I am supposed to be able to wade through such discussions but you lost me with the statements above. Please clarify.

I am sorry for the confusion. I want to do your soil suggestion but I cannot due me being so far into the medicated feed project.

You suggested building a scale myself. Any suggestions on how?

I cannot find where I suggest you construct a scale. A scale or balance would be required to make weight determinations.

Soil related I did not spell out so you appear to have been doing some reading up. The addition of non-nutritive bulk would be easy to change over two from the medication-laced versus control feed, at least with respect to hoops your committee will impose.

Can you describe your replication?

Are you sure? The store attendants, as stated above in my journal entry, said that amprolium both the feed and liquid form were being removed from the stores.

The reason I chose this project was because there are many people holding different opinions that it helps with growth and that is why many people misuse this drug for that reason. If you try looking it up on this website you will find various opinions :)

Thank you for your feedback!

Amprolium is not classified as a Medically Important Antibiotic and as such its use is not regulated by the upcoming VFD rules.

Nevermind, I am clearly confused myself. I'll just use my good old gram scale and find a way to contain the chick in while it is being measured.

Slow down a bit. You have time.

What are you considering as replicates? That is something I did not get clear in your earlier posts. Getting a handle on that helps make sense of issues to come later.

Amprolium is not an antibiotic. It is not being removed from stores. TSC employees are not reliable sources of information. They may have confused medicated chick feed for other types of livestock feed that do have antibiotics added. I've raised several batches of chicks, all bred from my adult flock, and have noticed no difference in growth rate, related to feed. The chicks raised on medicated do just as well as chicks raised on unmedicated.

As I mentioned in my journal entries, they were being removed from the TSC and Petsmart isles and I was there to witness it. But it is strange since so many people said is shouldn't be. Hmm..

Well I do not have enough time to do replicates for the this Febuary's fair sadly and can't add more time since this a required in-class project for AP Bio also. But if I get chosen to move on to regional fairs, I will do replicates not on one single thing but the entire design just to get a more precise prediction model.

The replication need not be done in time as you indicate above. You can also make so you divide the chicks up into smaller groups of three in each. If memory serves, then you were going to start off with 10 chicks per brooder. As such, your brooder would be the actual experimental unit or replicate.
