I do not know what breed he/she is, post pictures in 5 or so weeks for gender, and he/she looks to be 2-3 weeks old.

How long should I use the heat lamp for? Mine spends some time under it then walks away, plays around, then takes naps near it.

Are you keeping him inside or outside? You can put him out when fully feathered. I put mine out at 4 to 5 weeks but I live in Florida heat.
