I always thought they were ugly and never wanted them, heard many good things about them, great layers great meat birds, great in heat and great in super cold (and they are first birds outside in the snow below zero here temps no probs) never thought I'd like them until I got some and fell in love with them they are my favorite birds now. I think the chicks are just adorable. Funny story first batch I got told my BIL who didn't know what the heck they were that they were baby ostrich. By time he left I couldn't convince him they were just chickens , kept saying I'd need a big fence, they're going to get huge .. etc. Dude their chickens, he laughed at me "yeah right" and left...lol.

I’m giggling, but my heart is so happy that you let her bring home this sweet one. Maybe it’ll grow up to be beautiful! If not, personality goes a long way.

I have chicken math issues, so I enable my daughters chicken math, so I'm not the only one to blame (even if I am the only adult)

No, his neck will remain "naked" for life. I have so many Turkens that they just look normal to me. Maybe even cuter than regular chickens!! Look how pretty this guy is!!

But it looks like his craw is covered with feathers. If the craw gets covered I would be okay, I think.

Maybe I should say crop to be proper. It just hit me that I have been using the "country term" I was educated with when this city raised girl feel in love with chickens and went country.

I know that many like Turkins, but I have no idea why. My daughter begged for this little one. It seems to have a great personality, but that naked craw sticking out grosses me out. There is a little Puff of down above it's craw. Will that eventually cover the craw? Uncovered, it looks like some kind of growth.
