Country/backwoods term for the crop. Please tell me what the craw is.
The chick is so cute. Last year I took my daughter to pick out a sikie from a breeder who had a bunch of chicks, and she ended up grabbing one of the only necked neck silkies and named her Ruby. Even after getting some regular silkies this year, the necked neck it still her favorite.I know that many like Turkins, but I have no idea why. My daughter begged for this little one. It seems to have a great personality, but that naked craw sticking out grosses me out. There is a little Puff of down above it's craw. Will that eventually cover the craw? Uncovered, it looks like some kind of growth.

Nope, it won’t. It’ll probably get a kind of tuft in the middle, but it won’t get completely covered. Sorry. But it looks like his craw is covered with feathers. If the craw gets covered I would be okay, I think.![]()

Ours said that if we wanted one, we should get it then, because they go fast here. He reminds me of a monk for some reason. And I keep calling it a he, but I hope it's a girl.Aaawwwwww! What a sweetie! They had them in the feed store when I got my babies, then when I went back for more chick starter, there were three naked necks left and they asked if I wanted them. If I didn’t already have my ten, plus three adult chickens at home, I would have taken them, poor little things. Fortunately, they weren’t still there when I went back the next time so I’m hoping they found homes <3.
I'm sure I will get used to it. If this personality keeps up, I could love it. It's so funny.Nope, it won’t. It’ll probably get a kind of tuft in the middle, but it won’t get completely covered. Sorry.
