Meet Dexter! My House Chicken!(new videos!)

This is a video of Dexter, my house chicken. He has free run of the house during the day when i'm home and he goes with me in my car whenever possible. Otherwise he is in his cage. He also sleeps in my bed with me and never poops.

He is a Bantam sussex/Seabright cross and is half the size of his sisters. Since he is to small to put outside with my other chickens he lives inside with me. Perhaps the best house pet I've ever had!

I want a house chicken, but I live with my grandparents and they won't allow the chickens in the house.

Is he potty trained? (Can you potty train a chicken?)

I have a little diaper that I made for him, but i don't really use it much. He doesn't poop much and when he does I just clean it up.

I'm not sure if you can potty train chickens. I'm sure you could with a bit of patience.

He is only out when no one else is home. Otherwise he is in his cage.

How come he doesn't poop that much? Do you give him DE? I want a house chicken....I can only let mine in for a few minutes at a time in case of accidents..

What I should say is that he doesn't poop that much "for a chicken". He does poop a bit, but he is quite small and they are little poops. They are also healthy poops which are a little more solid and stay together unlike unhealthy diarrhea poops.

I love having him in the house with me. He has been great! and he is quite well behaved.
