This is "Goner". The name is very fitting as this chick was a "goner" and put in a box with a few other chicks that had died after we got our big order from the hatchery. Goner was picked up off the brooder floor, it was smashed flat as a pancake, pooped on and its little body was twisted in ways that had to hurt. When I went to move the box that had the dead chicks in it so my little girl wouldnt see them, the box peeped and little Goner moved enough to let me know it wasnt dead. I pulled him out and my husband and I doctored this little chick up and it survived. Honestly, I didnt think this chick would make it... but it did. I originally believed this to be a white Frizzle that didnt Frizzle. I had ordered 11 Frizzles, all of the other white ones that we ordered also died so I dont have another similar to compare it to. The remaining Frizzles are black and reds. One of the black ones is a smooth coated.
This one I am pretty sure is a frizzle??? But the color is wrong. It is supposed to be white.
Is there a way to tell for sure? It looks like the black one except its 1/4 of the other Frizzles size but I thought that might have been from the rough start it had. It appears to have the same comb as the other Frizzles.
Any ideas?
