what does that mean
Being crazy. 😉
My grandson named everyone the first go round when he was 2, so most were cartoon characters: P.J., Bluey, Bella, Rosie (Mama), Nugget (as in chicken) & Lucy. Mama Rose is my only remaining original, and we kept one of her boys, Brodie. Mama is now mated up w/one I incubated, named Mia, bc we thought he was a she until this spring. He/she was the perfect nanny to Mama's brood. But, it means I get to walk around singing "Mama Mia" all the time.
Numi is the late hatch who grew up in the house this winter but has moved out now. She was named for Numida meleagris (helmeted guinea). She had a violet sibling for about a week named Melea, but it developed mushy belly button.
Perhaps I'll try bribing the current 2 yr grandson into talking by letting him name the incoming crew.😉

That's so sweet! (No pun intended)
sweet as candy
i also made sure they were candy's commonly put in ice cream since i first broody guinea we tried to protect was icy or ice cream she disappeared out of the pen with a wood board that had bricks on it the 2 males that were with her were fine and still exist today

So..turns out Grounder is NOT a hen, but a cock & I must have mistaken his calls as a two syllable & all his body language is that of a male. Anyway, his best pal is Jazzy & they spend all day in a coop together. Jazzy is a female and it was a correct guess!! She has laid a few eggs. These are her 1st four eggs (one a night) and all the egg yolk/white has been removed and we are going to do some egg decorating. Pretty easy to remove the goop, one small pin hole in the bottom & use a large needle and syringe to inject air which all the goop slides out the tiny hole.
