Ice is the worst. I'm so sorry. Unless it's in a glass. Preferably with a nice single malt.

I am horrified. Never put ice in a single malt! Maybe a splash of slightly chilled water but not ice. Don’t ask me why, I was taught that at some distillery in the highlands of Scotland a million years ago. I remember the rule not the reason for the rule (if there is one).
Actually, now that I am remembering, I think it was my Dad that drummed it into me and later I asked the distillery people if they agreed.

Ice releases the aromatics in the single malt. 1 large cube is best. That's what I was taught at the distillery and I agree. It is better with a cube.

I will say that there is a real debate over this among scotch lovers. I don't mind it straight up but I prefer a cube. I'm going to email Shad and get his position.
