Meet my new baby!

Aww you will have horses again! I thought I would never have another horse after having to give up my Pal last year but then came along a sad looking little rescue mare, 150lbs underweight. That little girl gained her weight, and has been a great friend so far despite her sometimes bad attitude, less than awesome ground manners, and behaviour with the farrier. She's rideable even though she is arthritic with bad conformation, but she's retired forever. She's had a hard life, our vet thinks she may have been abused and she certainly was neglected.

Mylie is the first riding horse I've had since I was about 14, Pal was rideable but when I turned 16 he was shipped out west to live with my riding coach as his heaves were too bad to be living in the smoggy Toronto area. Pal has since gone on to horsey heaven at around the age of 28.

She is VERY beautiful

What a pretty girl--congratulations!

Do you have another horse on your property so she has a pasture companion?

I can definitely see the draft influence in her buildd, and it sounds like she has that wonderful draft disposition as well.

I can't wait to see summer pics when she is shed out, bright gold, and those dapples are glowing.

I do, I have a rescue large pony mare named Luna (there was a previous post a long time ago about her). They have to be kept seperate because Luna becomes herd bound fairly easily, but they'll be able to touch over the fence and see each other/talk.

She is not pregnant, she is just fat LOL. I'm an overweight rider but she is kind of on the chubby side and needs a workout as she hasn't been ridden since the winter and has been on full pasture with a round bale all summer.

Awww, congratulations on your beautiful new family member. May you two have many, many happy years together.
I'm jealous. I miss my horses. (still have my saddle - optimism.)
