I must stay away from the feed store.

I went to town a couple of weeks ago, to see if I could find a couple of chics for a broody.

Then I come across these chics they were weak & getting picked on pretty bad. I called the manager to see if I could buy them at a discount. I got them for 3 bucks a piece, they were selling for 5.
They got the nick name of Barney chics, I guess that is some type of no pick stuff on their backs? That was something the feed store put on them.

They have a sectioned off spot in the coop where they can come & go as they please. The Barneys got brave today & went out in the garden, hanging out under the Jerusalem artichokes.

that is very cute! What kind of chickens are they for $5 a peice??? Or is that the norm at your feed store? I wish mine were more expensive though, it would stop me from buying so many, they sell them here for about $2 to $2.50 a peice.

Thanks, I wish they would warm up to me some more, though.
They are finally getting some feathers on their back & they'll molt again in a few weeks.

Lux, that feed store is really expensive.Everything is marked up to pay for their new building.I don't go there very often, thank goodness.
