Megabacteria

I think I have megabacteria in my flock.
Chicken are fine, eating and all but they don't put on any wheight, they can't lay a whole batch of eggs just one egg every fifteen days or so, when they ever get to lay one..Then one day it becomes more severe and they die. I've read the internet over, tried antibiotics, wormers, vitamins, and medicines against fungi. We can't get anfotericin B where I live. I've been using nistatin...unsuccesfully so far. Has anyone ever had this problem?

bacteria and fungi are two different things. you are fighting a bacteria with a fungicide.

it sounds as if you are not actually SURE you have a bacteria. how was it diagnosed? maybe a better plan of action needs to come about here.

is there a vet that deals with chicken health in your area that you can take your birds to or that can make a farm call?

Do you have parrots/cage birds with this problem/?
I would first suspect worms or mycobacteriosis (see link below) first > megabacteriosis is very very difficult to diagnose and it is not known how prevalent it may be in poultry....
If you used a broad spectrum wormer: Since not even eprinex as a broad spectrum wormer will get tapeworms then you might try albendazole which I believe will > you can purchase this from First State Vet Supply >you must not use this on molting birds however . Sometimes it is necessary to repeat after ten days (did you do this when worming ?)
At any rate what I particularly want to point out is that without diagnostic testing (or NECROPSY) then it is impossible to be sure what is affecting your flock... I would call the state vet and get a proper necropsy done .

ours were like that this past winter and early spring. without seeing the birds, we asked our vet, and he suspected coccidiocious, and we treated, and they stopped dying.

I've tried as wormers: albendazole and ivermectin (but haven't repeated after ten days. will do it.)
I've treated them for coccidiosis although the laying mash I feed them comes with cocciodiostatics but haven't been succesfull so far.
No, I don't have any other animals. Only chickens.

Thanks to all that have taken the time to answer my post. I think I'll locate an avian vet around and get a bird examined or maybe a necropsy.
