Memorial: Introduction and Kitty

Jane- Well, if I may say so, I think every flock has a Jane in it. She was one of those chickens who is just there.I called her plain Jane. She had no defining qualities other than her great friendship with Lydia. and yet, managed to hold a ranking of third out of 7. Brava, Jane, Brava. Lydia and you were very close, and other than Lydia's laziness, we would have had no idea which one you were. Next up, Lydia Lazybones.

Lydia, you were a lazy, lazy girl. every time you went downstairs to the brooder you would see her in the corner nearest the heat lamp. One leg stretched out and face flat on the shavings. She and Jane were bffs. You would see them lying together( or running together if my brother was chasing them.). You weren't even on the pecking order as far as I could tell. You just kept to yourself and daydreamed and sunbathed.

Starbuck- you were my favorite above everyone else... at first i didnt like your name, but as time went on i realized you were a star among the chickens we had. You were the calmest chicken we ever had. I loved you a lot.....
