So I have lost a few hens in the past few months. I think it is Mereks, but not sure. Right now, I have a hen that seemed to be going broody, she was not very active, would just sit in the nesting box. I have noticed she is very thin and a few days ago she started twisting her neck and her head upside down and she kind of tumbles around. She can somewhat regain her balance and eat some scrambled egg or cantaloupe, but not much. She also seems to have bad eye/peck coordination. She is a 8 month old Silkie hen. She was laying for about a month, and now nothing for about the past month. My other hen had this, and we put her down. How can I tell if it is Mereks or wry neck, and is there a treatment for wry neck? Thanks.
