I did not vaccinate my chicken at 1 day for Merricks. Now it is 3 weeks old, can I still vaccinate it and do you know if I should increase the amount (It was 0.2 ml for a 1 day old). Thanks!!

Hmmm... I'm not aware that you can openly purchase the vaccination... shows how much time I spend here at work! I DO know that chicks are most suseptable to the disease at one day to 13 weeks. They will build up an immunity to it by 13 wks. The vaccination is not 100% effective against Mareks. I will try to look back here and see what everyone else says.

You can still vaccinate. It is the same dose.

If your chick has not been exposed already then it should be fine, it could already have marek's if you have it in your flock.

Remember that the vaccine we "hobbyists" have access to is not as good as the one the big hatcheries have and has a higher failure rate.

Has the chicken been kept inside in a brooder? Has it been quarantined. Has it been exposed to the outdoors or other birds? If you vaccinate now, it may or may not help.
