Happy Chickens!
I have yet to hear an egg song. She made a bit of noise her first egg, but that was more like a straining sound. But she's always been quiet and aloof. Just her little piping noises that we named her for. Those stopped for a long time, but interestingly have come back this week, and she runs right up to me when I go in the run.I did that too...beware, the color will fade eventually.
Yes they will eat more, and have bigger poops, after they start laying.
My birds usually head right for the feeder after laying an egg, it's kinda funny,
they are singing their egg song and trying to gobble food at the same time.
