Messy ducklings...getting chicks all wet

I am raising my ducklings and chicks in the same brooder but the messy ducks keep splashing water around everywhere, soaking the floor and making it a soggy mess. I think the chicks are annoyed and dont like the wet conditions. I worry about them getting cold from being wet.

Is there a solution to this or should I just separate them?

Ducklings love to play in their water so the only way to keep chicks dry is to separate. you can try different types of waterers but it's just what duckling do. can you divide the brooder into 2 separate compartments with out taking away to much of the brooder that way they can share the heat lamp, if not then 2 brooders and 2 heat lamps sounds like your best bet.

Yeah thats whats going to happen. Everyone said that the ducks and chickens brood fine together but I never expected everything to be so wet for the chicks. They roost on their feeder 24/7 to get off the wet ground.

Poor babies. lol, I really don't think I'd want to try it myself. brooding chicks is much easier since they don't make such a mess as ducklings, I have brooded both but not in the same brooder. So after you get everything [one] sorted out how about so pics of those messy babies.

Light brahma chick thinks hes a duck! You can see the floor is soaked. The RIR's are up on the feeder to get out of the water. Wife is on the way home with a second brooder now to get them dry again.
