Just curious if anyone has used these with any luck?

Chicken Pens Crate Rabbit Enclosure Pet Playpen Exercise Pen https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00OVUBOAK/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_hZUnAbHYRKBTV

Not a bad price for the size, definitely not predator proof but sure doesn’t seem like a bad buy.

I’m in the middle of rearranging and rebuilding coops after the hurricane and am looking for something quick and easy to throw some birds in.

I was looking at this awhile ago and I know that someone else on here has this. Maybe do a search - it should bring up the thread. Also, on he reviews, someone converted it to a chicken tractor.
We put up cattle panel and welded wire, so I didn’t buy the pen.

Might be hard to grab the birds if they didn't willing file back out when you wanted them to.
I wonder if the pic is showing 2.....
....doesn't quite look like ~40x80, looks twice that long.

I have something somewhat similar (a dog playpen with a mesh top) that I use to corral my chickens out on a side lawn when I want them to wreck some weeds out there. As you noted it's not predator proof but for short term usage it's fine. I found a second use for my pen as well, which is to break my broodies.

the height would not make it "walk in" & with only one door up front, cleaning maybe an issue. But if you can make it work for you, it is a great price!

It's only 15 lbs so you'd just pick it up for cleaning.

The plan is to make a temporary/permanent household for the bantams. Most of my coops were destroyed by a tree in the storms and I’ve got birds shoved everywhere. It’s going to take me time to build back up the pens that I lost. I have googled and searched and looked at pictures online and it looks like for standard hens in a full-time basis it wouldn’t house very many, but for the bantams that should be fine.

I would probably resecure it with zip ties I put a different tarp on it but from the pictures I have found it’s really that big.

A few of the people using it in the reviews are using it on a full-time basis but have done what I was thinking of doing and putting zip ties that for extra strength and stability in. I will be ordering two and will post back on here when they get here to let y’all know what they look like with chickens in them. I know it one point there was a user on here that use them for her Marand hens but that was several years ago and I don’t know how many pens she put together to house her chickens.

I don’t mind the lack of access doors they’re lightweight and portable. I have chicken leg grabbers if I need to pull one from the cages. I can then just lift it up.

Worst case scenario I’ve got two pens to put birds in when I’m cleaning cages and moving tractors.

Here’s some pictures from reviews on just amazon.

One poultry keeper put two together and it’s big. Big enough as a single pen for 3-4 chickens to fit comfortably with browsing times.

I wouldn’t recommend it full time without better weather protection from the reviews I’ve read.

Like I said. AS soon as mine come in (apparently without instructions, every review states it does not come with instructions....) I will post pictures of some of the girls in it.

We’ve already made temporary / permanent housing with pallets and cattle panels so... this is an experiment and possible solution for my unhoused bantams.

@junebuggena yes. I’m aware. I have owned chickens, and lots of them, for close to 20 years.

I’m just looking to see if anyone has used these long or short term.

I’m looking for first hand experience that isn’t just the reviews on amazon.

I know someone, somewhere, would see that and think they can put more than two or three birds in there but that would just be uncomfortable for all parties involved.
