Metal roof help please!

Hello all, I'm new to this awesome forum and also new to raising chickens that we're excited about. I'm on Long Island New York it can get cold and snowy here in the winter months. I have 1/2" plywood on the roof. Can I just put the metal roof on top of the plywood or do I have to add the 1x3 and the felt? Thanks in advance!

You will need tar paper..
Far as the 1x3. That might be a good idea.too. Unless you can screw into the rafters
