We just built one using recycled aluminum siding, so yes they can be used as coops. Insulation, vents, and shade will help keep a reasonable temperature for your chickens. Not sure if it was mentioned, but movable metal sheds need to anchored to the ground, or placed in a very protected spot. I've seen several that were blown over during thunderstorms.

thank yo uso much for all the info.
I still haven't gotten DH to start it yet. If i try to do it, i will get stuck, then he will have to help, when he's not reAdy and get mad.....................
