Yes, sometimes the older flock will do the training for you. I understand OP can't have *any* roos so this would not work for them, but ... my original roo has effectively broken his son of the habit for now, by chasing him off and flogging him any time he started to crow or show any interest in the hens. Poor Silver is now a lonely outcast, occasionally trying to lure a hen away, but so far without success. No worries though, we have at least 15 young pullets coming up he can choose from in about a month and Mike won't be able to manage all of them, so I expect we'll have two crowers before long!
