Just an update...they are 4 weeks tomorrow and moved from brooder to coop yesterday. Astounding how quickly they grew and changed. They are almost through the ugly stage....they're starting to look like chickens!

They seem a lot calmer in the coop. I think it's having more space. The brooder, which looked huge when they arrived, was getting kinda small. Working on the run right now. I hope to have access to outside for them by the time they are 2 months old.

Our coop is a converted smokehouse that my Dad had built about 40 years ago! LOL If we would have to "build" a coop, I prob wouldn't have chickens!
DH isn't really handy with that stuff. LOL We did build an enclosed run...we have been working on it on the weekends and it has taken about 5 weekends. We just finished that up this morning. We put the girlies in the enclosed run around 5pm and they stayed next to the coop and didn't venture more than about 7 feet and the run is 24 feet! LOL Around 7:30 we "chased" them into the coop. They settled down pretty much right away. I think they were scared of all the new things. But I just checked on them and every1 was asleep in the coop. Can't wait til the morning to let them back out to explore! I'll post some pics tomorrow! Please keep posting pics of ur girlies and the coop! They r beautiful! Ours r ALOT calmer now too. They had been in a 6x8 brooder and now have a 14x24 run and 12x10 coop!

Which one...? The white one up front is the Colombian Wyandotte, the Welsummers are there and the SLW. They are all a lot prettier than they were last week when they had a bad case of the lanky uglies. They are starting to look like chickens in miniature now
