First off I'm not quite sure this is the right place for this thread...

So a couple weeks back we ordered 5 chicks from my pet chicken/Meyer and after 2 long weeks of waiting for them to hatch we got the shipping/hatch notification this afternoon :) Yay! Now I'm just wondering how long it would take for them to get here... Should I expect them tomorrow? (Tuesday) I don't live more than 10 hours away from Polk OH.

Any help would be appreciated!

Yes, if they're shipping from Meyer Hatchery and you're only 10 hours away, you should be getting a call first thing in the morning from your post office. Often, they'll call before they officially open. It's helpful to let your post master know when you're expecting chicks, and give them one or more numbers where you can be reached.

It's SO exciting going to pick up chicks! I've had great luck with Meyer Hatchery, and have always gotten my chicks the morning after the ship day (I'm in central PA).

BTW - What breeds did you order?

I'll try to post some pictures when we pick them up :)

I've ordered both ways. The time that I ordered from My Pet Chicken I needed an order with what I wanted quickly. The other two times I ordered directly from Meyer. With Meyer I found that you had to wait a little bit longer unless you order from their selection of what is shipping that week. Both companies have good customer service and were easy to work with when I had questions. Meyer is a bit cheaper (you eliminate the middle man), but shipping time and price were pretty much the same.

We received our chicks yesterday from Meyer. I left a message for the post office the day before. They never returned my call. I decided to be there when the opened on Tuesday morning. Our chicks were on the dock with some other boxes of chicks. They were preparing to load them on a truck for delivery. So glad I got there before they went out on another truck.

I have been so busy with them I didn't have time to post. They came yesterday (Tuesday) I checked the tracking and it said it was at our post office, I called the post office, they never called me. You should have seen the look on the post office employee's face when I said "I'm here to pick up chicks" lol... But none the less the chicks looked awesome and very healthy. All 5 arrived no extras, all the right breed. Overall I'm very happy! I do have one question... When I bought the fizzle it didn't say anything on the website about the possibility of the chick turning out to be smooth. But after reading online some, people say there is a possibility of getting a smooth frizzle... Is that true? If so I think they should clearly state that on the website. Anyway I will always love my little frizzle even if she's a smooth :)
