Meyer Hatchery Chicken pics anyone??

The BR and BA have the brightest combs. My BO and EE are still just pink. We don't have a lot of hiding places in the chicken yard but I've been checking corners and out of the way places. Haven't heard any commotions/singing yet either. I think it will be any day now though. Those 4 are from a local farm but I know she got them from a hatchery. Don't know which one though. It didn't even cross my mind to ask back then. Here is our "middle" flock (blue cochin, d'uccle, speckled sussex, and plymouth rock) checking out the Polish.
Love all the pictures! Did the " middle flock" come from Meyers? I have a blue Cochin and Sussex coming in 2 weeks. And we ended up getting a blue polish. How are the silkies doing? Did you end up canceling the buffs?

My pictures are working now, so here's the chicks meeting Frou-Frou. :D

This was Frou'f's reaction upon seeing them. She just stopped and stared like that for ages!

The babies pretty much did the same. Hika Ma the EE bantam:

Then Frou-Frou chewed me out and walked away. (Don't worry, she got lots of love once the babies went back inside for the evening. :love )

They are getting so big & I soooo wanna steal po, look at that little guy! If you breed him will all of the offspring have the smooth frizzle?

Luckily we can confuse them as much as they confuse us... keeps it interesting right?

Lol ain't that the truth!

Frizzle is partially dominant, so since he is smooth, he didn't inherit the gene. His offspring will be smooth unless he is bred to a frizzle hen. He's such a cutie, though, isn't he? :love

OK now I want a blue cochin. I love cochins!!!

I went out to the barn this evening to go and bring my girls back to their brooder. I was expecting to find a big pile of crying chicks in the corner of the coop like usual. Instead I went out and I heard them peeping quietly, but I didn't see them anywhere on the floor of the coop! Then I looked up to find this...

All nine girls were lined up on the roost ready for bed! They weren't crying like they usually do either. They were just up there peeping contently like they do in the brooder. I'm so happy that they are going to finally be sleeping in their coop tonight!

He is!! I finally got a frizzle for my hubby, he ships 7/08. We REALLY want a boy (don't hear that too often lol). he wants to breed the silkies and polish to the frizzle. I finally got my marans too! I got a blue splash, cuckoo & golden cuckoo for 9/30.

Congrats! How did last night go? Mine have totally taken a few steps back after the thunder storm the other night. They didn't even want to play outside the next day, they just spent the day in their play pen..

No, 3 of them came from feed stores and the cochin was an egg that a friend of ours hatched from the farm we got our older 4 from. We didn't know what she would be but I fell in love with her the moment we saw her. We had a black cochin from the same place but since we can't have roos we had to give him up. Cochin's are the cutest chicks. You can see our first one on the left in this pic. We loved the "rockets". Our blue cochin is one of my favorite chickens. She is very easy going. The Speckled Sussex is actually a friend of mine's that we are watching while she moves. She's pretty but kinda mean. She integrated into our flock ok but she doesn't like letting anyone else in. She's the first to pick on the new chicks.

We lost 2 silkies. :( I don't have any idea why. The lady I got them from said she hasn't lost any. I'm starting to think we must have a different strain of cocci here that is overwhelming them. I went and got corrid today so I can be ready to treat the new Meyer babies we get on Wed. The last two silkies are doing good. The light grey one is going to be a splash and possibly a sizzle (the breeder had a couple frizzles). Her wings are all curled up right now but our first cochin did that too and he was not a frizzle so only time will tell. I also think the black silkie we got is a smooth frizzle as her wings look like normal feathers instead of silkie feathers. Again, time will tell.

Here's some pics I just took. The 2 silkies, and the polish we are keeping from "The Replacements".

Don't forget pictures when you get the new babies! We are expecting a buff and black silkies in this next order. I'm sorry 2 of the silkies didn't make it. My "splash" which was almost blue ended up being pure white. I hope your sizzle is a splash she would be pretty!

I love playing the guessing game!! Is the blue your only LF Cochin? I have the blue coming in a couple weeks and a partridge coming in the aug order, they look so cute and fluffy I had to get a blue one!
