Meyer Hatchery Chicken pics anyone??

Congrats!! :D I'm betting it was your Dominique. ;) (ETA: This was in response to Lynn's post on the last page!)

My babies are 6 weeks old today! (6 weeks? Yes, 6 weeks. ) Can't believe how fast the weeks are going by! They were outside all afternoon yesterday, but I was working outside, so I took pictures of them inside. Gotta get those uploaded! :D

Nancy - You read it right, I should stay away from abbreviations, my mistake, should have said WL. It was still just my White Leghorn. I do have a White Rock, but she is just 8 weeks tomorrow, so no eggs from her yet.

Oh, one more, here is Big Mama trying to pick on my GLP, Elvis, one of the babies, they're getting big!
Haha... sometimes I sit there scratching my head trying to figure out peoples abbreviations!! Love the pics but this is too funny!!! Love Elvis!!

WHOA- 3 eggs in one day!!!! Maybe omelette's for dinner???
Guess the heat won't bother them? Izzy is out there panting. I feel bad for them. They have lots of shade and I'm headed out to give them some frozen grapes and berries and put some ice cubes in the water!! At least I can sit in the AC. It's stinkin' hot for June already. Give me the cold any day!!

I opened up the nest boxes yesterday and they were in there poking around. Since they have been on sand since 6 weeks old they forgot what shavings were like. I awoke to shavings EVERYWHERE!!

Yup, it's been an exciting day! Elvis is a riot just to watch in person too.

It is hot out there, I've been giving mine frozen watermelon rinds each day, but ran out yesterday, might try some ice for today and try to pick up some more stuff for them soon.

That's good that they are already poking around in the nest boxes, mine didn't even seem to notice them at first. So are yours 16 weeks now? You'll be getting those eggs soon! Can't wait until you post those 1st egg pictures!

Pip- I am thinking it could be the Dominique or Google, my BR, they have both been nesting in the nest boxes the past 2 days. Of course, my CW and SLW have been very vocal and we're also walking in and out of the coop today. Then my other BR, Oreo has been going in and out too. Who knows?

Great pics too. That Po and his feathered feet, so cute. They all our getting so pretty with all their feathers coming in.

What fun! I can't wait!
You should have some soon too!

You'll have to update all of us!

It looks like you have so many chickens from your list, but I see that you really just have a large variety and ages. Eight is actually a good quantity, I originally was sticking to 12, but somehow I have 19. I am allowed 20 here, so I am still good.

She is 8 weeks now. She seems to have trouble seeing with all those feathers on top of her head. I think she is a she so far, no crowing yet. ( I know Elvis is a boys name, but my daughter thinks that names should not be associated with certain genders, she's 19 and Elvis is hers)

She also named Fred (who I call Freida) Well, they're chickens, I don't think they care.

Lol I don't think they do either! My parrot is a boy but I was misinformed and told he is a girl so I changed her name to Zoey and we just call him a her cause we've had her for 2 years before I found out so he became a she. Plus she learned her name so we didn't wanna change it. I can't wait till I get my polish!!

Funny, I don't feel so bad then. The polish are a lot of fun, when are you getting yours again? Not too much longer right?

My blue one ships 7/08 then I have a GL & SL shipping 8/05 and a buff shipping 9/30. Every order has the polish from the order before on it incase they don't make it but I'm gonna cancel the extras if they make it.

That's coming soon!! Exciting. More chicks!!!

Mine are only 15 weeks so I'm sure I have at least a month. I was hoping for an egg the beginning of August. I guess we won't know and there's nothing we can do about it anyway!
None of mine look very mature yet except Izzy the EE which is odd. Her comb and face are red - she looks like a 4 year old put lipstick on her... I'll have to get a pic. It's pretty funny.
I was starting to get nervous she was a he but I don't see anything that says roo.

Pip- very cute and getting so big!! Did you order Hika Ma as a roo or was that a (good) mistake?

It is getting close! I've been having chick withdrawal after seeing the baby's at the feed store a couple weeks ago. 9 chicks should hold me over for awhile.. Atleast my husband hopes so!
