Meyer Hatchery Chicken pics anyone??

I got 25 pullets of the Brown Egg Layer Assortment
SOOOOOOOoooooo??!!??? Several of us have ordered 15 of the Brown Egg Layer Assortment for delivery next week. Can you please tell us what you received in your assortment (I know it may be different for everyone, but I'm just wondering if I should expect 5 red sex links, 5 something boring, and 5 buff orpingtons)?

THANKS
Sara

Daisy our Salmon Faverolle.

One of the Buff ducks from Meyers. Don't ask me which one cause all 3 look identical!
Oh wow, love Daisy, I am so glad that I order another one! (Mo looks just like our Elvis, RIP)

All your chickens are so pretty.

Your ducks are so sweet looking! Thanks for sharing!

Our meat and egg chicks were in the same shipment but in separate boxes. it is cheaper to have everything shipped together. Meyers will delay shipment until they have all the chicks you want available at the same time.
I guess we will wait until next year for meat birds and turkeys. We just wanted one turkey, but you have to order at least five. The meat birds are not ready on the same hatch date too, plus I think we are not quite ready for them. I'd rather have a separate place for them.

Thank you for your reply.

That sure would be interesting to know.

Lynn - I hear you on the scale. I would think if you see her trying to get food all day she must be getting something.
That will be exciting getting 2 EE's! You just never know what you will get :) No eggs here and I don't think for a few more weeks. The RIR's wattles and comb are getting a bit bigger, my BR's is a bit bigger but the BA's are still pale and small. Those are the ones I think will lay first. They're about 16 1/2 weeks so maybe by 20 or so? Hopefully beginning of August but I guess you never know! I'm going away for the first few days in August but my husband will be home... I KNOW that's when they'll decide to lay!!!!
Maybe you'll have a green egg soon from Olivia?

The Howards - Love the pics!! Mo is so cute... I have to get me one of those one day! I have a Moe also - my White Cochin. My 16 y/o son named him that. I don't know why and he doesn't either. I call her Mosey though. A little more feminine. I would love a blue cochin - blue anything! ahhh, next time.
Nancy - I caught her eating!!! Not much, but specks, but still eating!!!

She has thinned out a little, but she is not near as thin as Oreo. Oreo ate a lot yesterday and hopefully will not get sick from eating so many meal worms. Whatever she wants to eat I let her eat it until she's better and fatter anyway!

I think I will not expect any eggs myself until this rain stops. It is so muddy and everything is starting to smell. It is pouring right now too. Yuck! wish it would clear up!

I had to share with you guys. Not only is Big Mama starting to eat again, but she was up on the high roost this morning when I went out. She never has gotten up there before because of being at the bottom of the pecking order. I was shocked, so great news!

I just hope that she can get down!

Well I only ordered 6. What we know for sure is 1 SLW, 1 RIR, 1 Gold sex link and 2 suspected gold sex links ( I think Meyers calls them Golden Buffs). The 2 suspects are feathering in very light though so they may turn out to be WR. We had a BO but lost her within the 48 window. The other 5 are happy, busy little girls

I was kind of hoping for a bit more variety but with only ordering 6 I was prepared for a lot of gold/red birds - lol. We were delighted to see a SLW when we opened the box. I will be quite interested to see what those of you who had larger orders received

I would love to get the pullet rainbow pack but I just don't have the room for 25 birds right now. But it would be fun playing the guessing game! When we move in a couple years I plan on getting a few of the assortments.

That's great news!! Is she starting to get better control of her mouth?
Yeah, she seems to be having a little more control day by day. I guess maybe it was a head injury that she needed to recover from.

I love my RIR and the SLW are such pretty birds. The Golden Buffs look pretty good too and I think I really good egg layers. So not a bad selection you have.

I wish the rainbow pack came in smaller quantities. We are trying to add 1 assorted cochin and 1 rare egg assortment to our order now. So hopefully we can get them added and play the guessing game too. It is a lot of fun!
