They are doing okay. I have a Barred Rock that I was worried might develop the wet kind because she has a pox on her beakline on the right side of her face and her face swelled up for a while. I immediately put her in the "hospital" cage and was giving her antibiotic shots for the first few days. The swelling has subsided but it is still horrible to look at. At least she is eating well now. Hopefully the big nasty scab will fall off and she'll look normal again.
I had another hen (my FAVORITE blue one, of course) that has a respiratory thing going on, so I am treating her with antibiotics too. It does seem to be helping her so far, I think her breath is less raspy than last week. I am using Tylan 50 and giving them 1/2 cc shots, morning and night. I had to woman-up and get over my irrational fear of needles to give her the shots, it still makes my stupid hands sweat when I see the syringe.
