Meyer Hatchery Chicken pics anyone??

I just thought I'd share, I guess my young girls won't be going outside anytime soon

Their pop hole is under that drift.
Oh, wow! That is a lot of snow! I won't tell you our temps lately in NC, you'll be mad at me.

Just wanted to share the photo I'm using for my christmas cards!

Too cute! She looks just like my BO! From Meyers too!

This was my first year ordering from Meyers, and I have to say that I have never had such sweet chickens before. I usually get a batch of chicks every year from somewhere, but I will never get any from anywhere but Meyers again. They are the best!!
I really like the sweet nature of my Meyer's girls too.

Here are my Meyer girls at around 5 months old!

Rose the Easter Egger

Iris the Blue Andalusian

Violet the Black Australorp

Lotus the Speckled Sussex

Poppy the Splash Blue Laced Red Wyandotte

So pretty!

That sucks you have that many chickens and are only getting 1-2 eggs a day! I asked for the egg skelter for xmas. I hope I get it. It will look so much nicer than egg cartons on the counter. I think I need two though because we like to keep the bantam eggs separate. (fyi, I found Meyer has the cheapest price on these)

I'll be home tomorrow morning so I'll try to get some good pics of the girls.

It is SO HARD to not get some eggs now for my incubator. It is just sitting there taunting me! I would do some but I don't want chicks in the house for too long so it needs to be ok weather outside by the time they are 5 weeks old. Plus I want to build a new brooder for them and I don't have the room for both right now with my parents staying with us until the end of the year.

We got a couple eggsicles during our freeze but I didn't crack any open. We checked for eggs every couple hours and still got multiple frozen ones. So funny!
I should have checked Meyer's for the skelter, it is cheaper. They do say they are out of stock now though. I have a wait since mine will not arrive until January.

I bet that you are wanting to try out that incubator. That would be a very dangerous thing for me to have, I don't need more chickens. I can't wait until you do use it and share with us!

We had a high of 14*f today but with wind chill it was 4*f, my girls (& guys) are VERY thankful for their new heated waterer. The cold isn't slowing them down though, they gave me 26 eggs today

and I still haven't got any eggs from my Buff Orps yet.
I am so jealous of your egg count! That's awesome!

I took pics a couple days ago but am just now getting around to taking them off my phone.

It was interesting to see that they stayed huddled together. Usually when they are out they are all spread out. I have a couple pics and they were always in this tight group.

Here is the polish that burned her crest. Look how flat it is on that side!

here you can see the burned feathers. Looks funny, especially when you think she used to look like that SLP behind her!
She is still cute burnt crest and all. The polish are such fun chickens to watch.

My new EE Ellie had such a small comb that I thought it was just a single comb, but upon closer inspection today, I could tell it was a pea comb. So, maybe possibly when she lays it will be a green or blue egg. She has the green legs and puffy cheeks too. So I am hoping.

My Meyer's girls are now 44 weeks, 33 weeks and 20 weeks, time really flies, they all look so huge now!

The girls don't appreciate having snow in their way. They find the spots to scratch with no snow!

I'm loving everyone's pics of the chickens in the snow! They look so pretty. We've had snow about 3-4 times now... more than the last 2 years combined already! I'm assuming that's because I got chickens now and it makes it a pain to go out there to the coop. LOL

I have some tragic, tragic news for everyone. My moms dog attacked Sunni last night. She isn't doing well at all. She is better than she was this morning, but her symptoms aren't making this look too good.

The only wounds she has in a few scrapes along her beak, and a gash on the top of her head under her feathers. She was begging for treats under the dinner table with the dog, and she must've pecked him, or got too close, or something, but he started viciously attacking her and grabbed her around the head.

She is experiencing some possible brain injuries, and head trauma. My dad is on his way to the store now to get her some baby aspirin, and I have been giving her some pedialyte every few hours.

I am just sick to my stomach right now. After he attacked her, she looked dad. She was limp and her eyes were rolled back, but she came around. I think me screaming brought her back. It happened so fast, there was nothing we could do. One second she and the dog were under the table, and the next he had his mouth around her head.

@LynnEBC Your girls went through shock after your dog attack. What did you do for them? Did any of them have any head injuries?
