Meyer Hatchery Chicken pics anyone??

Here are my EE's and a few others at 9 weeks old. Both EE's have the puffy cheeks now.

Haddie

Haddie again. Love her coloring now, she has a lot of gray blue, she always seems like she is smiling.

Maddie. Cool colors too!

Maddie again. Her dark face makes it hard to see the puffy cheeks. Her name suits her too, she is a leader and a bully.

..and a few more of some of the gang.

I can't believe mine will look like that in 4 weeks!! Love the ladder too; did you make it?

You have a great variety too and your EE's are going to look so beautiful and little Sweet Pea too. I think all my chickens are beautiful. We tried to add another another CW and EE to our order , Meyer's website said "Very limited availability", but when we tried there were none left. Well, we'll stick with just 9 more. We have to stop adding more chickens. Chicken math will get us.

So far, no crowing and they all still look like pullets. One of my RIR and my SLW have red combs and faces, but not much of any comb, guess they may be first to lay an egg? Who knows, still learning.. and there still is time to hear crowing....ahhhh

Keep an eye on your EE's that have white feathering, sometimes that could mean rooster. If they still don't have combs yet and the combs are light, you may still be okay. The EE sexing tips and tricks, have more info on that. (Not exact thread name, but something like that.) I do hope that you have all hens though.

I look forward to seeing more pics as yours grow up too, especially the BA's, since I have one of those coming too. Your chicks are feathering in so pretty.

I know... I'm watching her because of the white. It seems like just the chest is white but I guess with the EE's you just never know! I hope she's not a boy because she looks like she'll be really different from the others. I love Haddie and Maddie's coloring!!

Haven't posted in a while...but ya'll have some beautiful chicks. They are growing so stinkin fast!
Our duckies are growing at an amazing rate too, they are 4 weeks today. A couple of them is starting to mix some quacks in with their chirps and their bellies/shoulder areas are feathered out. DH has had a lot of fun raising them. Next he gets to raise some chicks, they are scheduled to arrive next week

. Good thing a new shed put is going up so I can get in there and make a coop out of it otherwise we would soon be out of room! Darn it- that math does catch up with you!! Unfortunately I do know that this will be our last batch of babies but that is OK, wouldn't trade our girls for anything.

WooHoo!!! What are you getting and are they coming from Meyer? And any new pics of the ducks? I'd love to see them

Lynn- what is the arrival date of your chicks?

I am pleasantly surprised at how good these Meyer birds look...The pictures in their catalog are displaying anything but good looking birds...Actually some of the catalog pics are rather scruffy and common looking...Why they continue to send catalogs with such pics escapes me, when they have access to such good looking individuals at their fingertips...Anyway, I am relieved...I do know that pics taken by cellphone are often distorted if the angle is wrong and the subject is moving..Thanks and Best Wishes to Meyer and you guys who have their stock!

I will take some updated pics of my 7 Meyer chicks (now 4 months old.) I think I have some beauties in the bunch for being hatchery chicks. The EE suddenly has gone from blah to beautiful and the BLRW is simply gorgeous in my eyes. Buff Brahma is also delightful to look at. Black Australorp has a lovely green sheen to her black feathers.

I think they used to use show quality birds for their pics in the past but decided this year to use actual birds they hatched and/or is in their 'stock'. I seem to remember something about customers asking them to use pics of what their birds could actually look like....
