Aw, they are cute! I can't wait until you post more photos. I would really like to see what your partridge Penedesenca looks like.

On the box lid they came in should say what sex the meal maker is mine did.would be either mmmf or mmmmThanks, Finnie. I'll post the Penedesenca as soon as I can get an okay shot. I did get pix of my two Blue Andalusians, not great but they were seriously grumpy about being away from the gang. This is a breed that has an opinion! I believe I have a Blue and a Splash, out of the three colors they come in. The Blue actually has been the most interactive and brave of all the new chicks, jumping into my lap (but drawing the line at being held).![]()
Also, Meyer gave me an extra, I guess a Meal Maker, although I did not ask for one, since I already suffer from chicken math. The forum opinion is that this chick is a Columbian Wyandotte. It acts bold, like a roo, and is twice as big as the leghorns. I'm hoping for a pullet and welcome opinions. Time will tell.

Thanks for the tip. I found the shipping list on the inside lid, and it itemizes my order of 9, and says 9 packed/shipped. But I've got 10. So maybe it was just a goof. Or a packer feeling sorry for a homeless baby? Hopefully it will turn out to be a pleasant mistake. On the box lid they came in should say what sex the meal maker is mine did.would be either mmmf or mmmm
Finnie, here is the Partridge Penedesenca, at 6 days. Still hard to get a good photo but she is far less wacko and flighty than some descriptions might lead one to believe, with a little patient exposure to people. I guess her name shall be Martha Stewart, based on the tag she's standing on. She has a complex, irregular pattern in a chestnut-gray, including two swirly spots on the top her head, right where horns would sprout. She seems very stout and a bit larger than the Andalusians. She takes her time and considers all carefully. She will hop out of the cage onto a towel on my lap, along with a few buddies, and sit for a short time on my lap on the couch. No panicking.
