Meyer Hatchery Chicken pics anyone??

To The Howards: Until recently their operation was much smaller. Seems like they used flock pictures. I agree that stylized pictures or show quality pictures should NOT be used. However, my point was that the person posting the photos of ACTUAL MEYER STOCK had birds that were far better looking to me than the pictures in the catalog and that Meyer was doing itself a disservice by not letting us know what their stock really looks like in the hands of real customers. I ordered from another hatchery because the birds simply didn't look good at all in the catalog. Then I saw the customer photos and wish I had gotten Partridge Rocks from them. Someone else told me that their birds are always above average in quality. Live and learn.
Agree with you there. They should have added photos of some of their customer's chickens. Mine are turning out so nice from them, especially the EE's. I am not disappointed with any of them as far as looks go. We'll see how they do when the egg laying time comes, they're still just 11 weeks, so I have awhile to go. Hopefully they will stay just as pretty or prettier once they mature too.

11 more days until my babies arrive!

Picking up my order tomorrow from Meyers of 2 started pullets, Easter Eggers I'll post pics once I get them home. First experience buying started pullets. Hoping they start laying sooner rather than later and that thet're light instead of dark colored. and that they did NOT snip their beaks.
Just got back from picking up my Started Easter Egger Pullets from Meyer Hatchery. For hatchery stock I think the ones I chose are quite lovely. Here are some pics ...

I agree that Meyers does not take full advantage of photos of the birds that actually come from them. Although I think they like us to post on their facebook page. All I know is that the Buff Brahma I bought from them in December is truly gorgeous and the one that someone comments on first when they see her in person. My husband, who is not in to this chicken thing, LOVES that Buff Brahma. He takes pics of her all the time.

I just placed my first order with Meyer yesterday for 5 chicks! They are shipping aug 6th, this is gonna be a long wait. I have 4 silkies already we got from a local breeder 3 weeks ago. This is the first time we've had chicks (hubby's idea) and I'm already addicted. Aug can't come fast enough!

I am going to have retract a little bit my glowing recommendation of Meyer Started Pullets. I should have looked a little closer before bringing them home, but it was a madhouse in the pullet barn. At any rate, one of them has a mild to medium crossbeak and also looks to have a case of lice. Yuck. Thank God I didn't just throw in with the other 2 flocks! I am sorts ****** actually.

My chicks are doing great!! I absolutely love watching them; they are so entertaining! They are now coming in and out of the coop at will and have adjusted well. I have some new outdoor photos and please, don't laugh when you see Sweet Pea/Pipsqueak. She gets the 'goofy award' for sure.
Also, feel free to let me know if you see any cockerels. I have two in question!

7 weeks old:

EE Mrs/Mr. Puff is in question:

2 Buff Brahmas:
Carmella is first, I think pullet:

And this is the one in question: Stella:
AND I just noticed a crossbeak the other day :(
her comb is much larger than Carmella and a little pink

Here are a few more:

Group shot

EE: Izzy

My bearded EE: BeeBee

BA: Mamie

Yes, you guessed it: Pipsqueak... (keep in mind, she is 7 weeks old!)

Junior my Cuckoo Marans and my 'odd duck' she's a cutie pie!
I took this photo as she was sitting on my back!

My EE: Cleopatra

BeeBee again

Moe my White Cochin

Cleo again, the EE: She was the first out of the box when
they arrived in the mail and first out of the coop!

Ok sorry, that was more than a few.

Hopefully my EE's look like girls. Any ideas?

Oh no. Can you return them? I certainly would call them and see what they say.
I just noticed a cross beak on one of my Buff Brahmas. She also may be a 'he' so he/she will probably have to leave us anyway.
I'm sad because that leaves me with only one BB and I think they are beautiful!

I'm just wondering how old your pullets are and if she has a crossbeak maybe it won't get worse because she is already older? I've never had chickens before so I'm just guessing, and hoping it ends up OK for you.

They are very pretty though!

Yeah, very excited...I kinda can't believe I am getting more! Everything is all set for them. I just need to inform the PO about them coming.

How are yours doing?

Kassaundra - My daughter saw your pics and she wants some of those bearded naked necks now. (My 19 yr old daughter) She thinks they are the cutest chickens she has ever seen!
