Meyer Hatchery Chicken pics anyone??

Here are some of my Meyer birds at 2 weeks, today! Would love some help IDing the breeds. Thanks!

1 & 2 - I'm not sure if these are bantams - they are almost the same size as my other chicks...but they have feathered feet, they are primarily yellow with a black saddle, a few have all yellow heads and most have black spots on their heads.


3 & 4 - This is the only chicks with a patterned face and feathered feet. The chick in the right shows the black saddle.


5 - This one is also on the smaller side also with feathered feet - but looks to maybe be a Black Cochin?


6 & 7 - I have 5 of these 1 has willow legs and is an EE, the other 4 have yellow legs, I don't think they are Easter Eggers/Ameracaunas. I'd love it if they were Penedesencas.


8, 9, & 10 - I'm hoping these are Wellsummers? The size difference is odd though. Maybe Brown Leghorn?


11 - No idea...anyone?


12 - Looks like it could be the same breed as the chick above...


13 - No idea...anyone?


14 - No idea, anyone?


15 - I think this is a Barnevelder?


16 - I think this is a Partridge Rock?

I'm not much help but 16 does look like my Partridge Rock but she died at a few days old but looks like her from what I remember. Also, some of the chipmunky looking ones could be EE's even if they have yellow legs. 1 of my 4 EE's had yellow legs for a few weeks then turned green/gray.
All so cute!!


kbh- that makes sense with the unbearable heat and the panting. That happened one very hot night recently, a few of them were panting in the coop and I felt so bad for them.
I recommend the eco glow highly!! I know they're pricey but I'm so glad I had it for my first batch. It seemed to solve a lot of problems before they arose. Although, I wouldn't use it for more than 8-10 chicks in the dead of winter in a cold part of the country. I got my chicks mid March and the 14 of them fit fine because it was starting to warm up a bit as they were getting to big to all fit underneath.

I have to say 13 looks like a golden Campine & 4 looks like a Ancona. And I'm thinking either blue or black Cochin for #5.

Nancy- ours will be here dead middle of summer and it was hard enough keeping the house at a reasonable temp with the brooder light in early April so for the sake of the other animals and most importantly my A.C/ electric bill Im prob gonna get the Eco glow. Can they be used with ducks too?

Oh that would be perfect for the summer!!! I think I've read people use them for ducks as well but now I can't exactly remember. Great question... Lynn- do you know??

I'm def sold on 1 but every review I read they say they use it for chicks. A few reviews said they payed for themselves in 8-10 weeks. I read you can use them with ducks. Anyone here use the Eco glow with ducks?

"I have the Brinsea EcoGlow and my ducks just love it. Cinnamon who is much bigger than Sugar doesn't seem to mind getting all squished under neath it. She just loves it. The two ducks cuddle up together under the ecoglow. I have to raise it up because Cinnamon is getting so big she lifts it up to get out of it. It is adjustable and I'm about to raise it to it's highest height. I'm so glad I got it.

I think there is a lot of people that use them for ducks. I wonder if the amount of ducklings per unit is different possibly since they're bigger? You may need a larger size if you have more then a certain amount?

I think I know of someone who uses them for ducklings, I'll see what they think too and let you know.

What breed is in the pic (Amber or Sunni) Very pretty!!
I moved my 6 week olds into the coop in April with pretty cool nights (40's-50's) and was a nervous wreck. I have the ecoglow and noticed they were barely using it in my garage but I moved it into the coop just in case they needed it. NONE went under it! Even my pipsqueak that was barely feathered never went under it. 
I think if you start weaning it off them in the house or just turn it off completely in the house (or where ever they are right now) and then put them out in a few days they will be just fine. They just snuggle together if they are a little cold. 
As far as light goes, I use the ecoglow so I didn't have any problem with them going to sleep in the dark. They were used to it from day 1 and that was one of the reasons I bought it. I loved it!! 
But maybe you can gradually reduce that too. Turn off your heat lamp and just put a night light in the room so they can still see a little and then after 3 days of that maybe they will be ok.

Hopefulpeeps- VERY cute!!  Sorry I can't help with sexing. I know very little but nothing is screaming 'cockerel' to me.

Last night I took away the light and went out to the garage at 10:30pm to check on them and they seemed fine, so I left it off all night. Well I was out there they were chattering to me and with each other, and once I left they were nice and quite. They all just piled up together and seemed to have no problems with the dark. What helped was the moon was shining right into the window of the garage over their brooder, so they still had a small amount of light. We planned on moving the chicks into their big girl coop today, but I think I will still put them into the brooder at night until they get used to sleeping in the dark.

Next year if I get chicks again (probably will), I will definitely look into getting the EcoGlow for them. I was going to this year, but by the time we were able to order it, it wouldn't have arrived until 2 weeks after my chicks arrived. By that time they would have already been too used to the light from the heat lamp to really make any difference.

My only regret with them is that I didn't get at least one of the 50 chick ecoglows.

I have 70 birds due to come here on June 28th. I'm going to have to do a heat lamp. It's going to be very secure... and as soon as they are 2 weeks old, no more heat lamp.. I'm raising meaties and layers. In July they really shouldn't need much of the heat anyway.. only at night and for the first week.
