Here's just one - webber .. Her sisters look identical to her ;)

We just got back from our local swap. We sold our last 2 polish (we still have 2 we are keeping). One went to a really nice lady that won't have her coop done until next month. So we're going to keep the little girl until she is ready. She also bought an EE there that we put with our polish so they can get to know each other.

We are down to 5 meyers girls left. 2 polish (SL, and splash), 1 blue orpington, and 1 GLW. Our friend is buying the blue orpington and we'll keep the GLW, so we are all done selling. :)

We were really tempted to get two ducks but my husband is so worried about getting caught since we aren't allowed to have them here. He's the one that wants them though so it was tempting. It made it easier to resist since they were only 2 weeks old and still needed to be in a brooder. We don't have a brooder that big!

Our BA laid an egg today! It's not as torpedo shaped as the BR but it's a tad heavier. Still really tiny. It will be interesting to watch them get bigger. I wonder if they'll get darker too since they are both really light right now.

Still waiting on the EE, hopefully tomorrow. :)

Are you expecting anymore shipments this year? I almost got a blue orp but when I went to add it to my order it just got sold. I'm glad you got everyone sold! What kind of ducks were you guys looking at getting

Amber my (almost) 9 week old EE from Meyer is starting to produce one crooked toe on each of her feet.

I took some pictures of both of her feet. It looks much worse when she walks around. Poor girl... I just noticed this today. I'm really hoping that it doesn't get any worse than this.

As you can see on both feet on the same toe, they are bending backwards a little. Right now it doesn't seem to be bothering her. So hopefully it stays that way.

I keep changing my order too. They are super nice to help out, love their customer service.

I was curious, do ducks not fly away when you have them?
I think changing your order is something that everyone does. I sure did with both chick orders. There must be a subliminal message in their web page

We have 10 ducks. 3 Buffs and 1 Blue Swedish (from Meyers) and 3 Rouens (1 crested), 1 Pekin, and 2 Muscovies, all girls. We had to clip the Scovies wings cause they can fly very well but the others are too large. They flap their wings like they truely beleive they can get off the ground but it just doesn't happen.

Have you tried searching about crooked toes on Google and on Backyard chickens too? I'd be curious if what people do with chickens with crooked toes. I hope she will be okay.

I still have another 3 weeks to change my order and I probably will. So far I have changed it 3 times.

Thanks for the education about ducks I always wondered.
Not the ones I ordered. Muscovys do fly but from what I hear ppl just clip their wings like you would a pet bird. But a lot of the common ones kept as pets are to heavy to fly. I've heard of ppl keeping breeds that do fly like mallards with heavier breeds that can't and that helps keep them from flying off every winter. I guess it works cause the ppl who have the scovies also has a blue Swedish which can't fly and I've never seen them off their property.. Well besides the middle of the road that they live on which is a 55 mph highway but that's a different story.
Thanks, I didn't realize there were some breeds that could not fly. Makes sense now.

Yeah, I tried searching. Some people splint the toes, but that was for chicks who are only a couple days old. Amber is 9 weeks, so I'm not sure if I can do anything at this point. For now I'll keep researching and see if I find anything.
