I don't know where she was, but she's back!!I was out in the coop with the girls and I heard a chicken talking on the other side of the little coop door. I opened it and there she was! She came racing into the coop and ran straight for the food dish. I can't believe she stayed in hiding for so long. She must have been so scared! Poor baby...![]()

I started a thread in Predators and Pests, and someone told me Annie and Alice (the leghorns) are what caught the hawks attention. So I don't think I'll ever be able to free range my chickens without supervision as long as I have those two.

I heard that hawks see all of our chickens and it doesn't matter the color, that they have very good vision and can see tiny mice and swoop down to get them, so I wouldn't blame Annie and Alice only. All of your chickens are getting the hawks attention. Not that this is any help though. Maybe once they are as large as adult chickens and too big to pick up that will help.
