Meyer Hatchery Chicken pics anyone??

Well it looks like I'm screwed when it comes to this whole hawk situation... We can't afford to build a covered run big enough for my 23 chickens, and I can't keep them closed inside forever. The hawk seems to like to come at my girls in the morning, so I am going to sit in the un-mowed grass right next to my barn with two trash can lids. If the hawk comes I'll start banging them together and yell like crazy in hopes that it scares it off for good. If that doesn't work I don't know what I'm going to do...

I know bird netting does help some, but you still have to watch them. A large roll at Lowe's is priced under 20 bucks and has a lot on the roll. I plan on buying more soon myself. It sounds like you have a plan though. Your neighbors may think you're crazy though. (My neighbors already think I am crazy, so no judgement here.)

I use a lot of zip ties and butterfly clips to secure my netting and it helps to have trees to run thin rope across to attach netting from tree to tree if needed.

She stands so tall for a pullet. Her coloring is very similar to mine though. Olivia is much closer to the ground.
It's just this pic, she was listening to something. I'll take a pic of her usual stance today.

We used the vegetable netting. It has the ties already attached and we also did the string between the tree/fence to tie it to. We found it both at Walmart and Home Depot. http://www.walmart.com/ip/Easy-Gardener-15544-55544-Garden-Netting/24816919
Walmart has the other bird netting also (at least online) http://www.walmart.com/ip/Easy-Gardener-604-7X20-Foot-Bird-Block-Netting-Each/21945377

Very cute. Glad they all arrived in good health. It's too early to tell on anything but the golden buff if they are girls. The golden buff is a sex link so they can tell for sure on those.

Oh my how adorable! Congrats on your new chicks!
You will probably have to wait a few weeks to be able to tell if they are going to be hens or not. My buff orps I could tell within a few weeks when they started feathering. The females will feather first the males take a little longer.

Well if you got them from Meyer, they didn't have too far to travel. Meyer is located in Ohio not California. They do a good job sexing their chicks, so if you ordered pullets, that's what you should get :)

Congratulations! Just got mine today from Meyer, pics here: https://www.backyardchickens.com/t/55/connecticut/6530#post_12018682

Thank you pipdzipdnreadytogo I was stumped on the pullet,. was pretty sure of the bo's and blrw. All my boys are soooo pretty I hate to slaughter them but that is why we got the pan fry mix,I just love the coloring of the BLRW. and they are so gentle at this time. Just about all the BO's are bullies though, I wish I could sell the BLRW but no one wants roos, sighs.I think next time I will get the broiler birds, Maybe I won't feel so bad about eating them. but all pullets I am keeping and 1 Barred rock roo and thinking about 1 of the partridge plymouth rock roos along with my BA roos.that will give me 4 roos and about 20 pullets, lol my chicken math just didn't add up the way I wanted it to.........lol
