Thank you! Wow! They do look very similar. My two Campines are both almost identical. I can only tell them apart by looking at their tails. One has one tail feather with a with tip, and the other doesn't.

I loved your article on all your chickens, it was nice to hear the story of how you got started. You sure started young, you're parents are great to encourage this experience. I really hope it works out and you can keep your chickens.

Speaking of Golden Campines, when did yours start laying eggs, you too Pip? Also, when did they start getting white earlobes. Sorry to bother everyone with these questions, I just like to figure out things and keep notes, etc. I have way too many notes now!

How are you chickens doing Nancy, did your broody/molting one start back laying yet. Olivia is still molting.

Thank you. The chances of me being able to keep my girls aren't looking too good. We still haven't heard anything from the city council, and I'll know for sure in one-two weeks if we'll be moving. My mom said that in two weeks if we find out that we are able to move there, I'll have to start finding homes for the chickens right away so that I'm not scrambling to find them homes last minute. So it looks like I'll only have the chickens for another 3-6 weeks.

I'll let you know as soon as I find out, and if anyone who is somewhat close to Michigan is interested in some young Meyer girls, maybe I can see if my dad would be willing to take a road trip. We'll see.

Lizzie and Lucy started getting white earlobes at about 8 weeks. (I think) I'd have to look through my photos to be sure. Lucy started laying eggs at 18 weeks and 5 days, and Lizzie started at 25 weeks and 6 days.

So sorry to hear about you having to rehome your girls, MsChickenMomma! :/ Here's hoping they decide to let you keep a few in town, anyway!

Your Lizzie must be directly related to my Ihi--Ihi started laying at about 25 weeks old, too! I don't know the exact age she was when she first laid because she hid her first egg, but she laid her second egg on the 3rd of this month. Looks like her earlobes started to turn white at 8-9 weeks old as well.

Lynn, that first picture is my Egyptian Fayoumi, Marama, if you wondered. I'm very pleased with how all these girls turned out--not that I have ever been disappointed by the appearance of my girls before.

Thanks for the info on your chickens. My Golden Campine must be a slow bloomer or maybe I am not looking close enough, I don't see much white on her at all and they are going on 15 weeks.

That is so sad having to give up your chickens. I imagine when you do move out on your own you'll find a chicken friendly place.

That's whats odd, she's still on grower feed. No oyster shells. Must be all those delicious crunchy bugs I guess
