Adorable. I especially love your molted and partridge Cochins. Hmm...and I don't have any of those...yet....LOL

From these pics I'd say you have one of each. 1 - splash, 2 - blue, 3 - black.
So cute!
Sorry to hear about the Meyer eggs. I won't do shipped eggs anymore. I think the PO is just too rough with them. Here in CO we have started an egg train. People post locations they are driving between and they can bring eggs to or from those locations. I travel a lot for work so I've posted my availability. I'll be in AZ this week and SC next week if anyone needs something between those states and CO. :)
Love the idea of an egg train. I've been seeing a lot of posts on craiglist within an hour of me with lots of eggs and chicks. There's even someone 10 min from me with bcm chicks but since mine are coming in 3 weeks i don't want to take a chance with that age difference of putting them together.

Great looking chickens!!! Love the splash cochin and silkie!!! Your run looks nice and really spacious... do you have any other pics?

I posted them on one of the EE threads and someone said two blacks and a splash. I honestly have no idea! I will not post on the ameraucana thread. They can be nasty. I was hoping for one of each, but I guess we will see. They are already getting little wing feathers. If feather sexing means anything and attitude, I'm thinking one boy and two girls.
I think like trsturself that you have a blue in there too, especially in that last set of pics. I have heard that about the Ameraucana thread, but I've never been on it. I saw your post on the EE thread, I thought that you were 2 different people at first.

The Meyers eggs did not hatch. Two internally pipped but stopped after that. They had a rough time with the post office. I don't blame them. I am really happy with these three though.

Sorry about your Meyer's eggs. How did the lady ship the Amercauna eggs to you? They seemed to do a lot better.

That is so neat "an egg train". I need to start searching for people near us with hatching eggs.

They are so adorable. So do you have bantams and large chickens in the same area? If so, how does that work for you? Do they all get along. We're thinking of getting bantams at some point too.

3 weeks? Oh wow! Yay!!!! (I need to remember to look on Craiglists too)

Not a great picture, but Daisy, my abusive White Rock is now in chicken jail. I should have put her in there a week ago, but the day I planned to put her in jail she seemed a little nicer. Today she was hopping on one young chicken to the next and viciously pecking and pulling on their necks and combs. So we'll see how the flock does a week without her. They already seem a little better. I hope that she'll be nice when I put her back in next weekend. She is in an extra large dog cage with food, water and a roost. She is out of sight of the others.

I do keep them all together and they do great! No problems so far.

Thanks, I think that I have read that the bantams are pretty fast so it is hard for the bigger hens to catch them anyway.

I have made 18$ in egg sales from neighbors and friends, plus some baked goods. Kinda adds to the fun of having chickens. I am going to keep the extra cash separate for chicken stuff, especially the extra stuff I want for them since it is unplanned money. Our neighbor gave us some homemade double chocolate chip cookies today too, they were so good!
I consider that an even trade!

I finally gave in and brought Lilly and Chicken Little (my aggressive girls) to a new home today. Two days ago they pecked the first layer of skin on most of Ellie's back clean off. I hope that solitary confinement helps you with Daisy. I tried everything with my girls, and nothing worked. So I did what I had to do, and re-homed them.
On a good note, I got to see my old Golden Campines from Meyer today! Gosh are they cute...

They aren't any bigger than they were 4 months ago when I last saw them. They seem to really like it at their new home. They get to free range and jump way up in the rafters of our friends barn, and I think that's what Campine's like best.

I just order twenty two fluffies from Meyers and the wait is killing me :p Their supposed to arrive any where between the fifteenth and the seventeenth of April. Good thing I'm on spring break that week! So excited. I'll be sure to post some pictures of the little stinkers once they get here :3

NotableNancy,
Broodies will pluck their bellies to keep their eggs warm against their skin. Since their feathers are such good insulators, it would be harder to keep the eggs warm enough if she had all those feathers between her and them. I can tell if I'm going to have broodies soon because of the amount of feathers in the nest boxes, they like to line their nest with them too.

Edited for spelling error...grrr
